Omega Rifle

The Omerga Rifle is a high powered assault rifle that shoots electronically fired high velocity case-less ammunition.

The bullets are double stacked in the magazine in a horizontal fashion to reduce the silhouette of the gun.

The bullets are a newly designed type of case-less ammo that has the slug not surrounded by propellant to hold it in place. Instead, the rear of the slug has a catch in it so the propellant block can grip it. Previously, this would have made the propellant block fragile however, new methods and chemicals make the propellant block much stronger so you can drop a magazine or a riffle with the magazine in it from a 6 stories and the propellant blocks are guaranteed not to shatter.

The high ignition temperature of the propellant means that exposure to sparks will not cause the rounds to explode. The design of the receiver also makes it virtually impossible for the heat from the ignition in the chamber to spread into the magazine.

The bullpup design of the gun means maximum barrel length with minimum profile exposure. The gun is stocky and easy to wield indoors, ideal for clearing corners.

A sharp shooter version of the gun can be adapted from the basic gun with a modification kit. The gun is also modular, like the XM 8 assault rifle in that there are quick disassembly and reassembly components that can be mixed and matched for the gun. The caliber of the gun can be increased. The bore, barrel length, sights, handle grips, stock, and even the magazine capacity can all be changed in a manner of minutes.

There is zero recoil to the gun other than the kick from the propellant, but this can also be reduced with a muffler.

When the magazine is spent, the gun automatically drops the magazine allowing for quicker reload times.

Since the gun shoots electronically fired case-less ammo, there is no bolt and no receiver action associated with reclaiming gas. The receiver is motorized and is not powered by the hot gas from the propellant. No spent cartridge needs to be ejected, thus minimizing evidence of a shooter's presence.

The entire action of the gun has no action in it except for the bullet exiting the barrel. Meaning, the entire gun, except for the motorized receiver and chamber isolation cylinder, has no moving parts, minimizing the need for maintenance.

There are various types of ammo the basic configuration of the Omega riffle can fire. Armor piercing, sub sonic, trans sonic, super sonic, scatter shot, explosive head, tracer, paint ball, kinetic dart, and even flame rounds. The scatter shot blocks (blocks being the appropriate nick name of the bullet rather than shell) are like shot gun rounds. 20 small lead or iron beads in a vaporizing cylinder (vaporizes when fired. the cylinder keeps the beads together) and at ideally suited for close quarters combat where the opponents are not well armored. The explosive head rounds are higher caliber and explode on impact. These are ideal for snipers and killing opponents behind barriers. The flame rounds are similar to blanks in that they don't have a slug, however, the propellant block contains a gelatin similar to napalm that when heated by the detonation of the propellant and expelled from the barrel, burns much more slowly and sticks to solid surface. A full clip of this ammo turns the riffle into a miniature flame thrower. The paintball rounds are primarily only used for war game simulations.

The scatter shot blocks make the gun into an extremely high rate of fire automatic shot gun. Combined with the high capacity 50 bullet clip and the extremely high rate of fire of the weapon, no body armor could possibly survive the sheer fire power.

The slugs can vary in composition but are primarily made of nickel, titanium, nylon, or fullerene nanotube impregnated aluminum.

The reason it is called the omega gun is because it is the last gun you will ever need. The gun to end all gun. The last gun that need be invented.

The body of the gun is made of composite plastics and impregnated with fullerene nanotubes making it extremely durable. All the metal components are also impregnated with nanotubes making the gun have a million round fired life time guarantee.

Some modular versions of the gun have a grenade launcher/single shot shotgun. This grenade launcher can shoot large rubber bullets, gas grenades, phosphorus grenades, fragmentation grenades, shot gun shells, tale stabled grenades, smoke grenades, or shot gun shells designed to destroy door lock mechanisms without the danger of ricochet and shrapnel.

Two safety mechanisms exist on this gun. One on the trigger handle and another on the stabilizer handle. The one on the stabilizer grip has four modes. Safe, single shot, 3 shot salvo, and full auto. Safe mode automatically turns off any laser sighting.

The second safety controls the rate of fire from 300 rounds a minute, to 1000 rounds a minute, to 50,000 rounds a minute.

In single shot mode only, the gun can fire various types of bullet in the same clip depending on the speed setting. (e.g. if you load the left side of the magazine with ammo type A, and the right side with ammo type B, you can shoot just type A ammo in the 300 round per minute setting or type B in the 1000 round per minute setting or alternating in the 50,000 round per minute setting). You can alternate between scatter shot and sub sonic single slug for indoor shooting, or flame round and super sonic rounds for the psychological effect.
