Description

Not named after the music festival in 1969 or 1999. Rather, this ship is named after the canary character from the peanuts comic strip who was named after the 1969 music festival.

Woodstock is a class White ship or class zero. It weighs 2,114,300 Kilogram fully stocked without crew. Not classed for docking in any port. It can support a crew of 36 biological humans. Class white or class zero means the ship is rated for intergalactic travel. It is the only ship in existence of this kind.

The propulsion system is a hybridization of wormhole excavator, on impulse, fusion reactor, anti-matter reactor, bussard ram jet, and metastable metallic hydrogen. It's maximum speed is .32c or 32% the speed of light utilizing the bussard ramjet in conjunction with the anti-matter reactor. The bussard ram jet is the primary means of breaking or deccellerating. The bussard ram jet is a non-solid non-mass electro magnetic conical shaped force field created by the large ring structure.

There is various equipment onboard for scientific research including various intelligent AI, robots, cyborgs, and small unmanned vessels.

The deffensive capabilities include a high intensity microwave laser, although it cannot be aimed, an assortment of robotic torpedos, cloaking dust, jamming dust, self assembling living attack spores, a buffer field rated to withstand nothing more brute than micro meteorites, and the exhaust from the antimatter reactor motor.

The powerful electromagnetic field emmited by the ring is sufficient to force the ship to collapse inward were it constructed using traditional construction materials. Instead, the ship is comprised mostly of non metallic organic substances. The end materials are manufactured by nanomachines and gives the ship a close chemical resemblance to that of plastic and wood. There are metallic components throughout the ship but they are used extremely sparsely. 90% of the metallic material is used for shielding while the rest is either used for reinforcement of structures or domestic items.

The buffer field is weak because the bussard ramjet shields the vessel sufficiently.

The ship's decks are located in the center tubular components and two spokes. There is no centripital force artificial gravity as the ship does not rotate and the ring structures are largely inaccessable. Instead, artificial gravity is simulated by wearing special clothing designed to pull the body towards the floor. The fibers of the clothing are nano engineered with molecules called antigravity molecules. The molecules do not actualy possess antigravitic properties, however, they exhibit quantum properties that makes them repulsed by electromagnetic waves. The molecules can be extremely fragile and suddenly be propelled at the speed of light from certain wavelengths. They are constructred to simulate approximately 1 G on a human body under radio wave emitting lasers. These beams of radiowaves have to be sufficiently high amplitude to effect the fabric, but low enough amplitude to be nullified below the floor. Interference from other radiowave sources can cause loss of balance but such a problem occuring is of a low probability. Most hardware and appliances are carefully tuned to cause as little interference as possible.

Cryogenic chambers allow for cyborgs and huminorgs (inorganic or genetically engineered humans) to sit out long treks through space. There are also hibernation chambers for pure biological humans to survive up to 3 years in almost suspended animation.

Living quarters are large and luxurious, nine quarters in all. Eight of them can each bed four people. One is for the captain. Each living space is 3.3 meters high, 3.3 meters wide, 5.5 meters deep (about the size of an average american prison cell). There is one toilet in each room.

There are 4 showeing chambers. Each chamber has a series of vacuums in the floor covered by a grate. The occupant stands in the shower with their ankles harnesed securely to belts attached to retracting springs. There is a seat and a hand held shower head. The water is sprayed from the shower head and sucked down through to the floor with powerful force. The ceiling rapidly replaces the air pressure creating a continuous wind tunnel effect. The forces can simulate about .4 G.

There is a small dining hall and food replicators. Enough to feed a full crew for up to 95 days comfortably, about 140 days with careful rationing. The crew is usually never active simultaneously or for periods of time longer than a few days.

There are shuttle craft that can give the crew access the planet surfaces. One such shuttle is seen in the middle of the triangular arrangement of woodstock, the sun, and the earth. A tiny white spec. This is illustrate the size comparison of the ship. The small white spec of a shuttle is about the size of a school bus. This should help to give some aspect of the size of the woodstock since the shuttle is the same distance from the viewer as the woodstock.

The worm hole excavator is allegedly technology from an alien origin. Axonite technology. It's authenticity can be proven if coordinates to the axonite's home world can be found.

The wormhole's technology and science operates on very simple principles.

At the center of every galaxy in the universe is a super massive black hole. These black holes have existed in the universe for over 10 Billion years. These Super Massive Blackholes are the hearts of galaxies, serving as the central axis which all the stars within them orbit. They are also the primary objects which galaxies use to act on one another. When galaxies merge with one another, the two cores rotate around one another at fantastic speeds and contort space/time around them. This sustained contortion allows for highly exotic physical events to occur in these close proximities of tremendous gravitational forces. One such exotic event is the creation of exotic matter. When a neutron star is caught in a massive tug of war between two such enourmouse gravity wells rotating around one another at fantastic speeds, the constituent subatomic components of the neutron star are torn apart so quickly that physics from the very primordial eras of the universe only trillionths of a trillionth of a second after the big bang will spill out and effect local matter and energy, thus leading to the creation of two portals that connect to one another globally, allowing for instantaneous transit to far locations in the universe.

Usually, when a galaxy comes into a close encounter with another galaxy, it is not absorbed, it simply passes right through it, and perhaps, sometimes, the same galaxy returns and begins the slow process of a decaying orbit into the other galaxy's core. When the galaxies pass one another, sometimes one or both galaxies can be completely torn apart, sending stars into the deepest lonliest regions of space. Sometimes, the galaxies will only become slightly mangled and reorganize its form. As galaxies that pass one another's cores, their cores may "kiss" in a manner mentioned in the above paragraph but then never merge. When they kiss, they will create wormholes leading to one another. These Wormholes can remain open for billions of years because they carry with them massive sources of exotic matter to keep them open. A wormhole is a gravity source and will orbit a star, or have a star orbit it. The wormholes with stars orbiting them are the ones that usually remain open the longest. Wormholes that have a pulsar orbiting it can remain open even longer. Pulsars can support an atmosphere of exotic matter that can feed a wormhole for billions of years.

This process of galaxies swerving and swarming and colliding into one another has been happening for billions of years, since before the solidification of the earth. Wormholes can be caught inside the spirals or other structures in galaxies. The end result is a universe littered with wormholes, the bi product of galaxies meeting one another and merging or just briefly kissing. Our galaxy contains 11,302 currently open wormholes. Most of which lead to other locations in space staggeringly far away. Far beyond this galaxy, far beyond the local cluster, far beyond even the farthest stars we can see from earth.

The Woodstock can traverse a wormhole by "excavating" it. The ship forces exotic matter into a donut shaped circular ring around the ship then flies through the center of the wormhole. This protects the ship from extremely rapid and gargantuan fluctuations in electromagnetic fields and radiation. Such forces even to a tiny degree would vaporize a human exposed to them. The exotic matter is held in place from the forces exherted on them while traversing through the exotic matter atmosphere of a pulsar. A particle accellerator built into the ring of the ship also helps to force the exotic matter to orbit in such a way as to form a spherical shell with two dimples in the front and back.

The Woodstock will be used to find the axonite home world to attempt to eliminate the threat of the next Leviathan spore.

Neat concept. I'm trying to develop a spacecraft for a syfy novel I'm doing, but I am looking for it to be completely physically logical. Granted its thousands of years in the future, and I'm down to create a new technology to enforce artificial gravity, but I'd like for it all to be explained thoroughly and not be contradictory to some other important function on the ship(s). I like your idea of AG, but I don't know how I feel about gravity only being simulated on the subjects of the ship while everything else flows freely. anything not inside the suit would be unaffected by the simulation. Even their hair would just float around. That's all fine, but I'd like to not explained the wacky physics of what goes on in the ship due to zero-gravity every time some sort of action unfolds.
